“I believe that healing begins with compassion—for yourself, your journey, and even your struggles. My practice is named Compassion’s Gate because I believe that compassion is not only the foundation of effective therapy, but also the doorway to transformation.”

Hello, World!

About Christine Fuchs-Gosselin, MSW, LCSW
Founder of Compassion’s Gate Counseling
I specialize in helping clients overcome depression, anxiety, trauma, codependency, and substance use disorders. With over 20 years of experience in behavioral health and more than a decade as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I offer a compassionate, holistic approach rooted in trauma-informed care. My goal is to walk alongside you with empathy, helping you understand the connection between your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors—while supporting healing of the whole person: mind, body, and spirit.
In our first sessions, we’ll explore what brought you to therapy and identify the patterns, relationships, and life experiences that may be contributing to your current challenges. Together, we’ll create a personalized healing plan that reflects your strengths, goals, and values. I draw from evidence-based modalities like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness, and wellness-based practices, integrating tools that promote emotional regulation, self-awareness, and inner resilience.
Clients often tell me they feel deeply heard and supported in our work together. Whether you’re navigating a life transition, feeling overwhelmed, struggling with addiction, or just trying to reconnect with yourself, therapy can be a powerful space for growth. Many of my clients begin to notice relief within the first month, with continued progress as we build insight, develop practical coping tools, and strengthen the ability to respond to life with greater clarity and compassion.
I named my practice Compassion’s Gate because I believe compassion is not only the foundation of effective therapy—it’s the doorway to transformation. If you’re ready to begin your healing journey, I’m here to help you take that first step, at your own pace, with care, curiosity, and respect.

Frequently Asked Questions
I've never done therapy before. What should I expect?
You can expect a welcoming, judgment-free space where we take things at your pace. In our first session, we’ll talk about what brings you in and what you’d like to get out of therapy. It’s okay if you’re not sure yet—I’ll help you find clarity.
What if I’m nervous or don’t know what to say?
That’s completely normal. You don’t need to have everything figured out to begin. I’ll guide the process and help you feel more comfortable as we build trust and explore what matters most to you.
How many sessions will I need?
The number of sessions varies depending on your goals, needs, and the challenges you're working through. During an initial consultation, we discuss your objectives, preferences, and timeline. From there, we co-create a plan that can be adjusted at any point to fit your evolving needs.
Some clients begin to notice shifts within the first few sessions, while others choose to work longer-term for deeper healing. We'll check in regularly to ensure therapy is aligned with your progress and comfort.
